The River is pretty slow and calm below Castle Rock alot of families float this section. As always keep an eye out for hazards tree branches or
3 Hours give or take and very easy flat water stretch just be aware of your surroundings tree branches and rocks and the Train Bridge
Below Blue Creek about 1/2 mile the river picks up speed and a little splashy chop then makes a hard left hand turn, most importantly do not let your kayak or canoe get sideways in the faster moving water keep the nose of the kayak canoe pointed down river. After that it's a pretty scenic float with lots of Bald Eagles and Ospreys and Blue Herons. Keep your eye out for trees in the water when there is current to dodge those.
Float Time from Barrier Dam to Blue Creek takes around 90 minutes depending on the flow and type of kayak canoe
Wavy in spots with a underwater rock or tree limb to dodge and one big Rapid "The Kracken" Sharp Left then Sharp Right with a big Eddy on both sides so you have to ride the current right down the middle and have fun!!
